Zahara Marley was named Tena Adam at birth
in Ethiopia on January 8, 2005. After her
adoption by Angelina Jolie, she was named
Zahara Marley Jolie. Her name was again
changed, to Zahara Marley Jolie-Pitt, when
she was jointly adopted by Brad Pitt.

Brad & Angie's eldest daughter, Zahara is
the fierce little girl whom we fondly
remembers as that little baby Brad expertly
carried around in New York with baby bottle
in his back pocket.
But it wasn't always an easy life for little
Zee who was one of hundreds of thousands
Ethiopian AIDS orphans. July of 2005 when
she came home with her mom and big brother
Madd from Ethiopia. Brad, Angie later
revealed, is very much a part of her
adoption of Zee.
Shortly after her homecoming, Zee was
hospitalized in New York, because she was
suffering from dehydration and a salmonella
infection. She was treated immediately plus
received undivided attention from her
mother. And from what we see of Zee today,
she growing up to be a healthy, active young
girl.
And a Daddy's Girl at that. It is very
evident from the candids we always see of
Zee and her dad. She got Brad under her
spell from the get-go. Angie mentioned the
obvious power of Zee over her dad in an
interview with Marie Claire, with Zee
mentioning her "daddy's going to cry"
because he wants her to have the cookie.
Prompting her mom to say that Zee's "a
smartass." One thing that Zee hates is the
paparazzi. She always have that fierce look
of contempt whenever she sees them. Brad
mentioned this on his Oprah interview,
"Our little one
Zahara said, 'Actually Daddy it's not
alright,'" when asked about
photographers following their every move. In
this same interview Brad also refer to his
little girl as Zee-Zee (ZZ).
And it's fun to see how Zahara loves pink.
We almost always see her wearing pink
outfits in her candids, and somewhat has
more girly fashion sense than her little
sister Shiloh. But the two girls share one
love over High School Musical films. Ashley
Tisdale, who played Sharpay Evans in the
movies, revealed that Angie told her about
the girls liking the movies and Zahara
loving her character's outfits when they met
each other in an airport. No surprise there
because Sharpay wore a lot of pink in those
movies. And because of that Ashley gushes,
"Oh my gosh, I love
Zahara. I can baby-sit anytime!"
Zee will have her own center named after her
in Ethiopia under the partnership of Global
Health Committee and the Jolie-Pitt
Foundation. Brad said of the center,
"It is our hope when
Zahara is older she will take responsibility
of the clinic and continue its mission."
And with loving, supporting parents,
Zee will surely have the drive to help. - JPO |
